The DAF EcoDrive+ training supports the driver in handling the truck in the most efficient way and pays a lot of attention to the benefits of the latest on-board technologies. DAF EcoDrive+ training results in 3 to 5% better energy efficiency in the long run.
You can do the math yourself: fuel bills for a 40 ton long haul diesel truck combination easily exceed €60.000,- per year.

At the start of every DAF EcoDrive+ training the driver is challenged to show his or her actual driving skills. During this session, time, energy consumption and DAF Driver Performance Assistant scores are monitored. In the second stage, the driver receives all practical and theoretical information to drive as economically as possible. That includes for instance the advice to maximally anticipate traffic situations and letting the vehicle roll as much as possible, as well as instruction on how to make best use of the truck’s technical features. The final part of the DAF Driver Training is a coached driving session, during which all practical and theoretical information is put into practice and new scores will be monitored to show the improvement.

The dedicated training EcoDrive+ training
The dedicated training EcoDrive+ training for electric DAF vehicles focusses for instance on the importance of regenerating electricity by decelerating and the value of the One Pedal Drive functionality. The accelerator pedal can be applied for accelerating as well as for controlled decelerating, which in many cases makes the need of using the regular brakes redundant. That results in a longer range.
